Roots Hall is close to Prittlewell station and walkable from Southend Victoria. There is no general matchday parking at the stadium, so drivers need a school, town-centre or reserved private space.
Prittlewell is the closest station, around a five-to-ten-minute walk from Roots Hall, with Greater Anglia services via Shenfield and London Liverpool Street. Southend Victoria is around 15 minutes away and offers a wider central starting point.
Southend Central serves the c2c route from London Fenchurch Street and is farther from the stadium. Check which London terminal and final train best suit the whole journey.
Local buses use Victoria Avenue between the city centre and the ground, but the walk from Southend Victoria is often simpler. Visiting coaches follow instructions issued through the away club.
Road controls and the narrow stadium approaches make informal drop-offs difficult close to kick-off.
The A127 is the principal route into Southend, feeding Victoria Avenue near Roots Hall. Traffic builds well before kick-off and again on the long route back towards the A130 and M25.
Do not drive to the stadium expecting public parking. Use the postcode of the confirmed car park and check nearby residents' and permit restrictions.
Prittlewell is closest but its platforms become busy. Drivers should expect a slow exit along Victoria Avenue and avoid setting a tight onward connection.
