Make a day of it

Plan your Manchester City away day

The Etihad is an easy city-centre-to-stadium trip by tram or foot. A good day uses central Manchester first, then moves east with enough time for the correct South Stand level.

01

Piccadilly and tram

Use central Manchester, then take the East Manchester line to Etihad Campus.

02

Signed walk

Walk 25-30 minutes from Piccadilly, avoiding the post-match tram queue on the return.

03

Pre-booked driver

Use the official colour-coded car park, Belle Vue Park & Ride or a verified private space and follow the booked gate.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:30 - arrive at Piccadilly and use the recommended central area.

13:15 - take the tram or begin the signed walk to the Etihad Campus.

13:45 - identify South Stand entrance L1, L2 or L3 and clear security.

17:00 onwards - follow any hold, then choose the tram queue or walk back towards Piccadilly.

Food and pubs

The Townley is mapped check-first because its admission can vary. Mary D's, The Grove Inn and The Corner Shop are home-only, Piccadilly and the Northern Quarter form the recommended wider area, and the South Stand concourse is the reliable post-entry option.

Things to do

The National Football Museum, Manchester Art Gallery and Northern Quarter suit a city-centre start. The Etihad Campus itself is best treated as the final match destination rather than the main pre-match pub area.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 3 October 2026.
