Getting there & parking

Anfield is an away-day destination where the final approach matters. Check the fixture information before travel because parking, segregation and coach arrangements can change.

Parking options

Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

Liverpool's help centre, updated 19 June 2026, says matchday parking near Anfield is very limited and recommends public transport. General turn-up parking at the stadium should not be assumed.

Accessible matchday spaces are limited and normally requested when booking the ticket, with places allocated by ballot. Follow the confirmation for the exact entrance and arrival deadline.

Private matchday parking

JustPark lists reservable managed spaces and private driveways in Liverpool. Search around the stadium postcode, then check the real walking route, access window and cancellation terms before booking.

Private spaces are independent of the club; a very close driveway may still sit inside the post-match traffic queue.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Lime Street is the main inter-city arrival rather than a stadium station. From the city centre use the 917 express from Commutation Row/St George's Plateau, or take Merseyrail to Sandhills and connect with the matchday Soccerbus.

By bus or coach

Liverpool runs enhanced matchday buses, including the 917 express, while Soccerbus links Sandhills with Anfield from around two hours before kick-off. Official visiting coaches follow the current Arkles Lane or Priory Road instructions issued for the fixture.

Driving

Anfield sits inside a matchday residents' parking zone and local roads become heavily congested. Do not search the surrounding terraces for street parking; approach only with a confirmed car-park booking and expect road closures or managed exits.

Use L4 0TH only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around Anfield to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 1 October 2026.
