Make a day of it

Plan your Darlington away day

Darlington works as a compact town-and-ground day out. Central pubs and food are roughly half an hour from Blackwell Meadows, while the stadium clubhouse is the simplest plan only when the fixture remains unsegregated.

01

Town centre first

Use a mapped check-first venue near the station, then leave about an hour before kick-off for the walk or a verified bus.

02

Clubhouse route

Go directly to Blackwell Meadows only after the live notice confirms the unsegregated clubhouse welcomes visitors.

03

Pre-booked driver

Reserve the £5 club car park or a verified private space and expect a shared-exit delay after full-time.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:45 - arrive at Darlington station or a checked central car park.

12:00 - use the town-centre area or a venue that has confirmed admission for the fixture.

13:50 - leave the centre for the 25-30 minute walk, or take the checked local bus.

14:20 - identify the open-end turnstiles if segregated; otherwise follow stewards to the correct entrance.

17:00 - walk back towards town or let the single stadium exit begin to clear.

Food and pubs

The Blackwell Meadows Clubhouse is mapped as away-friendly only for unsegregated games. Number Twenty2 and The Quakerhouse are current check-first town venues; central Darlington is the recommended wider area and the segregated away concourse is shown separately.

Things to do

Hopetown Darlington and the Head of Steam railway heritage site suit an early arrival when open. Darlington Market Hall and the pedestrian centre sit naturally on the station-to-ground route, while South Park is the useful outdoor stop closest to Grange Road.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 2 October 2026.
