Getting there & parking

Blackwell Meadows is an away-day destination where the final approach matters. Check the fixture information before travel because parking, segregation and coach arrangements can change.

Parking options

Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

Matchday parking at Blackwell Meadows is currently £5 and can be bought online; any unsold spaces are offered first-come on arrival with cash or contactless payment. The small inventory can sell out, so booking is the dependable option.

Blue Badge parking must be reserved before the match. Drivers without a ground booking should use a legitimate town-centre car park and allow a 20-25 minute walk; do not park on verges, block residents or assume nearby business spaces permit football parking.

Private matchday parking

JustPark lists reservable managed spaces and private driveways in Darlington. Search around the stadium postcode, then check the real walking route, access window and cancellation terms before booking.

Private spaces are independent of the club; a very close driveway may still sit inside the post-match traffic queue.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Darlington station is roughly 1.4 miles from Blackwell Meadows. The official walking route through the centre and down Grange Road takes around 25-30 minutes; leave more time with a group and use signed crossings rather than taking shortcuts across busy roads.

By bus or coach

Darlington's official directions list services 12, 34, X26 and X27 between the centre or Town Hall area and stops near Grange Road. The linked timetable on that page is historic, so verify the live Arriva or local timetable and the return stop before relying on a bus. Official coaches must follow the fixture instructions.

Driving

Leave the A1(M) at Junction 57, follow the A66 towards Darlington, then take the A167 signposted Northallerton and Croft. Blackwell Meadows is on Grange Road about 400 yards beyond the roundabout; the narrow shared exit can delay drivers after full-time.

Use DL1 5NR only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around Blackwell Meadows to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 2 October 2026.
