Make a day of it

Plan your Spennymoor Town away day

The ground is walkable from central Spennymoor, but the mainline station is in Durham. Build the day either around a town-centre stop and short final walk or a timed number 6 connection from Durham.

01

Durham rail and bus

Arrive at Durham, take the number 6 to Spennymoor and use the mapped centre before the short walk to Wood Vue.

02

Spennymoor centre

Start at the Grand Electric Hall or Penny Gill after checking admission, then continue to the correct Wood Vue or Tees Crescent entrance.

03

Confirmed driver

Use St Charles only when the live guide advertises it, otherwise reserve a legitimate private space and avoid the restricted streets.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:00 - arrive in Durham for a brief city stop or connect directly to the number 6.

12:15-13:30 - use a mapped check-first venue or the compact Spennymoor centre and eat before leaving Cheapside.

13:35 - walk to The Brewery Field and confirm whether Tees Crescent segregation is operating.

17:00 onwards - return to the bus stop for Durham or allow Wood Vue and Durham Road to clear before driving.

Food and pubs

The Tees Crescent visiting bar and food area is mapped as the designated away option for segregated games. The Grand Electric Hall and Penny Gill are active public pubs but remain check-first, while compact Spennymoor town centre is the recommended wider area.

Things to do

Spennymoor Town Hall contains the Bob Abley Art Gallery and Durham Mining Museum, both close to the mapped centre. Jubilee Park sits near the ground, while Durham Cathedral and riverside require a longer city stop before the number 6 bus.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 5 October 2026.
