Parking options

Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

The club's current matchday information lists limited, unreserved parking on Shaftesbury Avenue and additional spaces on Bedesway, reached through Turnstile 5. Neither area should be treated as a reserved bay.

Arrive early and follow the live stewarding plan. Accessible parking or drop-off requirements should be arranged with the club before the day rather than left to the unreserved supply.

Private matchday parking

JustPark lists reservable managed spaces and private driveways in South Shields. Search around the stadium postcode, then check the real walking route, access window and cancellation terms before booking.

Private spaces are independent of the club; a very close driveway may still sit inside the post-match traffic queue.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Mainline visitors change at Newcastle or Sunderland for the Tyne and Wear Metro. Bede is the closest stop and the club describes the walk to the turnstiles as about five minutes.

By bus or coach

South Shields Interchange is the town-centre hub, but the Metro is usually the simplest final leg to Bede. Check Nexus engineering work and late-evening services. Official coaches should follow the fixture-specific club instructions.

Driving

Use the A19 and A194 approaches for the Bede industrial estate, then follow signs for Shaftesbury Avenue or Bedesway. The postcode covers a compact industrial area, but football traffic and limited bays make an early arrival essential.

Use NE32 3UP only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around 1st Cloud Arena to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 4 October 2026.
