Reading's ground is beside the M4 rather than the town centre. The strongest rail plan uses central Reading first and a football bus; the strongest driving plan fixes park-and-ride or a legitimate reservation in advance.

Stay at voco beside the ground for convenience, using central Reading separately for pubs and food.
A sensible 3pm plan
11:15 - arrive at Reading station or the confirmed parking site.
11:30-13:20 - use the centre or a mapped friendly/check-first venue.
13:25 - join the F1/F3 or begin the walk from Car Park 6/Green Park.
14:10 - enter the South Stand block printed on the ticket.
17:00 - expect bus and A33 queues; follow any temporary hold instruction.
Food and pubs
The World Turned Upside Down is mapped friendly, Reading station is the recommended wider area, and the Three Guineas and Holiday Inn Reading South remain check-first. The away concourse is separate.
Things to do
Reading Museum, the Abbey Quarter and riverside sit around the centre and station. They work well before the match, but leave a large margin for the F1 football bus or A33 traffic.
