Sixfields is an out-of-centre stadium beside the A45 and a leisure park. It is straightforward by road, but rail travellers face a longer walk or bus and drivers should distinguish official football parking from retail restrictions.
Northampton station is around a mile and a half from Sixfields. The walk normally takes 25-35 minutes, using the west side of the centre and the route towards Weedon Road.
Allow longer after full-time and check the last connection. A taxi or local bus is sensible for supporters with limited mobility or luggage.
Local buses serve Weedon Road and the Sixfields area from the town centre. Matchday traffic can slow the final section, so check live times rather than planning a tight arrival.
Away coaches are directed to the area outside the South Stand under fixture-specific arrangements. Independent groups should confirm parking through the visiting club.
Sixfields is signposted from the A45, with M1 Junctions 15A and 16 providing the main motorway approaches. Follow signs for the actual matchday car park rather than stopping in the first leisure-park bay.
Retail car parks have their own time limits and enforcement. A football match does not override the conditions displayed at shops, restaurants or the cinema.
The A45, Upton Way and leisure-park exits queue after full-time. A slightly longer walk to the station or a driveway away from the main exit can be quicker than joining the first traffic surge.
