Parking options

Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

Penydarren Park parking is limited to reserved season spaces and a small number of pre-arranged disabled spaces. General visiting supporters should not drive to the stadium gates.

The club's current matchday guide directs drivers to Castle Street Multi-Storey or the College car parks, each about five minutes from the ground. Check opening hours, tariff and any event restrictions on the day.

Private matchday parking

JustPark lists reservable managed spaces and private driveways in Merthyr Tydfil. Search around the stadium postcode, then check the real walking route, access window and cancellation terms before booking.

Private spaces are independent of the club; a very close driveway may still sit inside the post-match traffic queue.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Transport for Wales services link Merthyr Tydfil with Cardiff. The station is roughly 15-20 minutes from Penydarren Park, with an uphill finish through the town centre; check the live timetable and the last practical connection before travel.

By bus or coach

Merthyr bus station is close to the railway station. Local services use the Penydarren and Trevithick Memorial corridor, but routes and Sunday or evening frequencies change, so check the current Traveline Cymru or operator timetable before relying on the final leg.

Driving

Approach Merthyr Tydfil from the A470, then follow signs for the town centre and Penydarren. Park in a lawful public car park and walk uphill; the stadium's surrounding streets and tiny internal car park are not a dependable turn-up option.

Use CF47 8RF only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around Penydarren Park to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 3 October 2026.
