Tynecastle Park sits in the dense Gorgie neighbourhood west of central Edinburgh. Haymarket is the practical rail hub, buses are frequent and Hearts provides no special car-parking arrangement for general supporters.
Haymarket is the closest mainline station, around a 20-minute walk along Dalry Road and Gorgie Road. Supporters arriving from the south should normally continue through Waverley to Haymarket.
Edinburgh trams serve Haymarket from the airport and city centre. The tram does not stop at Tynecastle itself, but it is useful for reaching the walking route or an overnight base.
Hearts currently lists Lothian routes 1, 2, 3, 21, 25 and 33 from Haymarket/Dalry, plus several First routes. Services and diversions can change, so check the live planner on matchday.
Away coaches are directed to Russell Road from McLeod Street, with Roseburn Street used for overflow. Russell Road is not suitable for double-decker coaches.
From the Edinburgh City Bypass, the club directs traffic from the A71 Edinburgh West route towards Gorgie. Central Edinburgh's Low Emission Zone may affect some approaches and older vehicles.
Street parking is strictly controlled around Tynecastle. Do not rely on finding a space in Gorgie, Dalry or Shandon without checking current signs, permit zones and matchday restrictions.
Gorgie Road and the Haymarket route become crowded after full-time. Walking back to Haymarket is usually more predictable than waiting for the first packed bus, but leave a realistic rail connection margin.
