Holyrood first
Visit the Parliament, palace or lower Royal Mile, then allow 25-35 minutes for the walk or bus east to Meadowbank.
Portobello overnight
Stay east of the centre, add the coast and use London Road buses back to Meadowbank and Waverley.
A sensible 3pm plan
11:15 - arrive at Waverley or the confirmed Edinburgh East parking space.
11:45-13:30 - use Abbeyhill, Holyrood or one mapped check-first venue.
13:30 - take a current London Road bus or start the final walk to Wishaw Terrace.
14:05 - use the west turnstiles and locate the ticketed Blocks A-B seats or west standing area.
17:00 - return along London Road, checking city-centre bus diversions before joining the first queue.
Food and pubs
The New Edinburgh City Club, Artisan, Bellfield Taproom and Ball Room are all verified current but mapped check-first because none publishes a permanent away-colours policy. Abbeyhill and London Road form the recommended wider area, with the food-truck concourse shown separately.
Things to do
Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament and Arthur's Seat sit between the centre and Meadowbank. Calton Hill is convenient from Waverley, while Portobello beach is east of the ground and works better for a longer stay or a bus-based plan.
