Make a day of it

Plan your Crystal Palace away day

Selhurst Park rewards a rail-first plan. Thornton Heath and Selhurst supply the closest pub routes; Croydon or central London provides a wider base before the short Southern train journey.

01

Thornton Heath pubs

Use the Prince George route, then walk to the Whitehorse Lane visiting corner.

02

Norwood Junction rail route

Travel from London Bridge, use a mapped venue only if its category suits, then walk 10-15 minutes.

03

Croydon overnight

Stay centrally for hotels and restaurants and use local rail for the final matchday leg.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:30 - arrive at Thornton Heath, Selhurst or Croydon and use a correctly categorised venue.

13:35 - walk towards Whitehorse Lane before the roads and pavements reach their peak.

13:50 - use the visiting entrance and allow time for searches and the compact concourse.

17:00 - walk back to your chosen station; do not count on a taxi reaching the closure zone.

Food and pubs

The Prince George and Selhurst Club are mapped as the clearest mixed-supporter choices. Railway Telegraph is check-first, while Clifton Arms and The Cherry Tree are home-only; the Arthur Wait concourse provides the post-turnstile option.

Things to do

Crystal Palace Park and the dinosaurs make the obvious longer local visit, although the park is not beside the recommended match station. Croydon's centre gives a broader food and hotel base with rail links to Selhurst or Norwood Junction.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 2 October 2026.
