Make a day of it
Chesterfield offers a simple Sheffield Road route: station and centre first, then a line of established pub options before the stadium. Drivers can use the same plan with booked parking.
Use the Red Lion or another mapped option, then walk south to the East Stand approach.
Arrive at Chesterfield station, see the town centre, then allow 35 minutes for the stadium walk.
Base yourself centrally or north of town and add a wider-area visit with separate transport.
11:00 - arrive at the station or central Chesterfield.
12:15 - move along Sheffield Road to the Red Lion, Glassworks or Derby Tup.
14:10 - reach the East Stand entrance shown on the ticket.
17:00 - walk back towards town or allow stadium traffic to settle.
The Chesterfield map identifies the Red Lion as the designated away choice and the Glassworks and Derby Tup as mixed venues. Fixture restrictions can still override normal admission.
The crooked spire at St Mary and All Saints is Chesterfield's central landmark. Chesterfield Museum and the market area fit a longer town-centre stop when open; the Peak District needs extra transport.
Premier Inn Chesterfield North and Casa Hotel are both on the north side of town and convenient for the Sheffield Road stadium route.
Ibis Chesterfield Centre and Portland Hotel keep the station, centre and evening options within reach, followed by a bus, taxi or 30-35 minute walk to the ground.
Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 13 September 2026.
