Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

The club's stadium car park is pre-book only on matchdays. Current guidance lists a £12 charge, but price and availability should be checked for the fixture.

ANPR parking management was introduced in 2026: a valid booking and correct vehicle registration are essential. Accessible spaces must be arranged in advance.

Private matchday parking

JustPark's dedicated SMH Group Stadium page lists private driveways, managed car parks and matchday event spaces around Sheffield Road.

Read retailer conditions and enter the correct registration. Compare the route to the East Stand and whether post-match traffic can hold the exit.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Chesterfield station is around 1.7 miles from the stadium. The walk through the centre and along Sheffield Road normally takes 30-35 minutes.

Buses and taxis cover the final leg, but allow for queues after full-time and check the last return before an evening fixture.

By bus or coach

Frequent buses use Sheffield Road between the centre and the stadium area. Matchday congestion can slow the final stops.

Official away coaches follow match-specific drop-off and parking instructions; the Red Lion also has established visiting-coach arrangements when pre-agreed.

Driving

The A61 connects the stadium with the M1 and Chesterfield bypass. Navigate to the booked car park entrance rather than simply S41 8NZ.

Sheffield Road and surrounding retail access roads become busy. Never assume supermarket or retail parking is valid without a specific matchday booking.

After the match

The A61, Sheffield Road and retail junctions queue after full-time. Walking back towards the centre can be more predictable for rail travellers.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 13 September 2026.
