Make a day of it
Cheltenham is an easy centre-to-ground away day: the Promenade and Brewery Quarter have the broadest choice, while Whaddon Road is a manageable walk away.
Start around the Promenade or Brewery Quarter, then walk north-east with a clear 25-minute margin.
Reserve parking, use a mapped away-friendly pub and approach the Hazlewoods Stand early.
Choose the centre for the station, restaurants and evening rather than the residential stadium streets.
11:00 - arrive centrally and use the Promenade, Brewery Quarter or Pittville area.
12:30 - use a pub on the mapped away-friendly list.
14:10 - begin the final walk to the Hazlewoods Stand.
17:00 - return towards the centre while immediate road traffic clears.
The Cheltenham pub map separates the Kemble Brewery Inn and Sudeley Arms from the check-first Robins Nest. Central Cheltenham is the broad fallback when admission near the ground is uncertain.
Pittville Park and the Holst Victorian House fit the walk north of the centre. The Wilson art gallery and museum, the Promenade and the Regency streets suit a longer visit.
No 38 The Park is a relatively close independent option. Holiday Inn Express Cheltenham Town Centre is beside the Brewery Quarter and keeps the ground walk manageable.
Premier Inn Cheltenham Town Centre and Queens Hotel put restaurants, the Promenade and public transport close at hand. Check the actual station and stadium walking routes before choosing.
Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 13 September 2026.
