Arbroath is compact enough to combine the station, harbour, smokie shops and Gayfield on foot. Build in weather margin: the short seafront leg can feel very different from the sheltered town centre.

Harbour route
Allow time for fish and chips or an Arbroath smokie, then continue along the seafront.
Stay overnight
Base yourself in the centre or harbour to protect against a late change or difficult rail return.
A sensible 3pm plan
11:15 - arrive at Arbroath station and head to the centre or harbour.
12:15-13:40 - use Tutties Neuk, the Corn Exchange or another mapped option whose admission you have checked.
14:10 - walk to the turnstile printed on the ticket and allow for segregation checks.
17:00 - return towards the harbour and station while the seafront traffic clears.
Food and pubs
Tutties Neuk has the strongest current mixed-supporter evidence. The Corn Exchange is the broad central fallback, while the Old Brewhouse suits a quieter harbour plan; admission can still change by fixture.
If you have extra time
The Signal Tower Museum, harbour and smokie shops fit naturally between the station and stadium. Arbroath Abbey is west of the centre and needs an earlier arrival.
Hotels near Gayfield and the harbour
The Old Brewhouse puts you beside the harbour and within a walk of Gayfield. The Townhouse Hotel is more central and convenient for the station and High Street.
Driver and edge-of-town hotels
Premier Inn Arbroath is useful for drivers but sits outside the most compact station-centre-ground route. Compare the actual walking or taxi plan before booking.
