Make a day of it

Plan your Accrington away day

Accrington is a compact, straightforward away day. The town centre, station, mapped pubs and ground can all fit into one walking route, while drivers can use the M65 without entering a major city.

Town centreeasy rail baseColey's Barstadium optionM65simple road approach
01

Town centre first

Arrive by rail, use the mapped Abbey Street options and allow 20 minutes for the uphill walk.

02

Straight to the stadium

Pre-book parking, use Coley's Bar or The Crown and enter via the Coppice Terrace turnstiles.

03

Stay nearby

Accrington has limited hotel choice, so compare local driver-friendly stays with Blackburn or Burnley bases.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:30 - arrive in Accrington and use the town-centre map cluster.

13:30 - start the walk towards Whalley Road, stopping only at a venue confirmed for away supporters.

14:20 - reach the Coppice Terrace entrance and allow time for queues.

17:00 - walk back into town or wait briefly for Livingstone Road traffic to clear.

Food and pubs

Coley's Bar, The Crown and The Grey Horse are the strongest stadium-side choices. The Crafty Fox and broader Abbey Street area suit rail arrivals.

If you have extra time

Haworth Art Gallery and its Tiffany glass collection are the main local cultural stop. Check opening days before building the trip around it.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 12 September 2026.
