Make a day of it

Plan your Mansfield Town away day

Mansfield is a compact away day: the railway station, centre and stadium are close, and the North Stand has several established pub options within walking distance.

01

Rail day trip

Arrive via Nottingham, use the centre or Sandy Pate, then take the short walk to the North Stand.

02

Drive direct

Book a legitimate public or private space and avoid retail-car-park assumptions.

03

Stay overnight

Use central Mansfield for the station and evening options, or the A617 corridor for an easy road departure.

A sensible 3pm plan

11:30 - arrive at Mansfield station or secure the pre-booked space.

12:15 - use the Sandy Pate, William IV, Sir John Cockle or another mapped visiting option.

14:15 - walk to the North Stand turnstiles.

17:00 - return to the station on foot or allow Quarry Lane traffic to settle.

Food and pubs

The Mansfield map includes the Sandy Pate at the ground and several town-side pubs. It also clearly marks the Talbot Inn as home-only.

Things to do

Mansfield Museum and the town centre fit a rail day trip. An overnight stay opens up Sherwood Forest and the wider Nottinghamshire attractions, but those require onward transport.

Hotels for drivers

Premier Inn Mansfield sits by the A617 south-west of town and can simplify the motorway leg, but requires a drive or taxi to the stadium.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 11 September 2026.
