Make a day of it
Blundell Park makes an excellent seaside away day. Cleethorpes station, promenade pubs and fish-and-chip shops can all sit on the walking route to the Osmond Stand.
Arrive at Cleethorpes, use the promenade and mapped pubs, then allow 25 minutes for the Osmond Stand.
Reserve private parking or use a lawful seafront or town space, avoiding the tight stadium streets.
Choose Cleethorpes for the matchday atmosphere or central Grimsby for broader rail and business-hotel options.
10:30-11:30 - arrive at Cleethorpes station and use the promenade.
12:15 - choose the Swashbuckle, No.1 Pub or Coliseum Picture Theatre.
14:10 - start the walk to the Osmond Stand or use the away bar.
17:00 - walk back along the coast while the A180 traffic clears.
The Grimsby map includes the dedicated away bar plus three mixed-support pubs between Cleethorpes and the ground. Policies can tighten for selected fixtures.
Cleethorpes beach, pier and promenade fit naturally before a match. The Fishing Heritage Centre is in Grimsby and needs extra travel time; opening should be checked in advance.
Premier Inn Cleethorpes and the Kingsway Hotel are useful coastal references, with the first generally better for drivers and the second for a promenade stay.
Holiday Inn Express Grimsby is beside Grimsby Town station and suits an early mainline departure, but it is several miles from Blundell Park and needs a train, bus or taxi on matchday.
Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 13 September 2026.
