Getting there & parking

Dunmow Group Community Stadium is an away-day destination where the final approach matters. Check the fixture information before travel because parking, segregation and coach arrangements can change.

Parking options

Compare official and private matchday parking

Official matchday parking

The club's standing matchday page lists free but limited on-site parking and signed overflow nearby. Availability is not guaranteed: high-demand match notices have withdrawn general stadium parking and retained only limited accessible arrangements.

Check the current fixture article before driving and follow the named overflow signs rather than using nearby residential or business land. Accessible spaces are limited, first-come or available by prior arrangement, so contact the club in advance.

Private matchday parking

JustPark lists reservable managed spaces and private driveways in Chelmsford. Search around the stadium postcode, then check the real walking route, access window and cancellation terms before booking.

Private spaces are independent of the club; a very close driveway may still sit inside the post-match traffic queue.

Availability, prices and access arrangements can change by fixture. Always check the booking details before travelling.

By train

Chelmsford City describes the stadium as a 25-minute walk from Chelmsford station. The route runs north-west through the city and Melbourne district; allow extra time for the Salerno Way approach and the return after an evening match.

By bus or coach

Official fixture guidance has used the C2 from Chelmsford Bus Station towards Melbourne Shops, near the Red Beret, followed by a short walk to Salerno Way. Check First Essex's live stops and times because match notices, evening frequencies and diversions can change.

Driving

Approach Chelmsford from the A12 and follow the A1016 and local signs towards Melbourne and Salerno Way. Do not rely on the stadium postcode alone for a parking entrance: the final road serves the sports centre and can be congested when spaces are restricted.

Use CM1 2EH only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around Dunmow Group Community Stadium to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.

Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 6 October 2026.
