Make a day of it
Buxton makes a distinctive high-altitude away day. The spa-town centre supplies the strongest food, pub and hotel choice before the short but hilly walk to Silverlands.
Arrive by rail, use the central mapped area and allow 15-20 minutes for the uphill walk.
Go directly to Silverlands and use the mixed-supporter clubhouse if the fixture notice confirms access.
Use Market Place, Sylvan Park or Spring Gardens as directed by the club, then walk to the turnstiles.
11:30 - arrive by rail or park in an official suggested town car park.
12:00 - use the Pavilion Gardens area or a correctly categorised mapped venue.
13:30 - begin the uphill walk and identify the Mill Cliff entrance if the game is segregated.
17:00 - return towards the station or central car parks while Silverlands and the narrow streets clear.
The Buxton FC Clubhouse is mapped as the confirmed recent mixed-supporter option. The Cheshire Cheese, Old Club House and Buxton Brewery Tap House are check-first, Market Place is the recommended central area, and the stadium concourse covers post-turnstile service.
The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton Opera House and the Crescent are all close to the station and central pub cluster. Poole's Cavern needs more time and a separate uphill leg, so it suits an early arrival or overnight stay.
These options keep the final matchday journey relatively short. Compare event-night prices, parking and cancellation terms before booking.
A central base is usually better for the station, food and the evening after the match.
Travel, parking, ticket allocations and stadium procedures can change by fixture. Check the latest information from both clubs and the relevant operator before travelling. Guide checked 1 October 2026.
