Current visiting-supporter guidance directs away cars to the Queens Ground car park, S71 1AN. The March 2026 guide listed £5 for cars, £10 for minibuses and £20 for coaches, payable by cash or card on entry; it is not pre-bookable, so arrive early and verify the fixture notice.

Vehicles are held for at least 15 minutes after the final whistle while pedestrians clear. Most other Oakwell spaces are permit or operational parking, and larger vehicles should follow the visiting club's instructions.

By train

Barnsley Interchange is around half a mile from Oakwell. The signed walk through the town centre and along Eldon Street, Schwäbisch Gmünd Way and Pontefract Road normally takes 10-15 minutes; allow longer when the level crossing and matchday footfall are busy.

By bus or coach

Check the current local timetable for the final leg to Oakwell. Away coaches and minibuses should follow the instructions issued by the visiting club and must not assume a public parking bay.

Driving

Leave the M1 at Junction 37 and use the A628 towards Barnsley, following stadium signs rather than attempting a residential shortcut. The Queens Ground and Metrodome approaches become congested close to kick-off.

Use S71 1ET only for the general area, then follow matchday signs and the entrance named in your parking instructions. Allow extra time for residential roads and pedestrian traffic.

After the match

Expect the roads immediately around Oakwell to move slowly while pedestrians clear. Rail users should confirm the last practical connection; drivers may prefer to wait before joining the main route.
